When a cat steps out of the cat litter tray, it also brings with it a lot of sand or hygiene briquettes, which are unattractively placed around the litter tray. Make sure the area is tidy and hygienic, as the mat will catch the sand through the holes and then simply empty it back into the litter tray!
It's great, I used to clean 5 times a day because it was full of stuff around, now I just empty 1 time and that's it.
